Training Assessment and Accreditation

As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Nova is required to have formal training delivery, assessment and evaluation policies, systems and processes in place to meet the requirements of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) 2010. Nova subscribes to a Competency Based Training and Assessment methodology to ensure that learning can be easily transferable back to the workplace. Nova has a long and proud history of successfully delivering training to our clients in all facets of our core skills, and by utilising current consultants working on real time projects who are also experienced and qualified facilitators. This concept brings to bear credible and knowledgeable facilitators with a wealth of experience. Assessments, both formative and summative, are also a critical component of all Nova courses and are used to confirm the transfer of learning. As part of the Competency Based Assessment approach, Nova relies heavily on conducting assessments that replicate the student’s workplace. This ultimately reduces the training burden on the student’s organisation and can make them more productive, earlier. Training Evaluation is another area where Nova must ensure ongoing, continuous improvements of training to meet the requirements of the AQTF 2010. This is achieved by evaluation methods and tools such as course critiques, instructor self and peer evaluation forms and employer/supervisor questionnaires.

Accreditation

Accreditation of training is an integral part of offering a total training solution. Nova has significant experience in this area and as a RTO, has previously assisted organisations to gain formal recognition or accreditation of their courses. This requires intimate knowledge of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and the national accreditation process, including the State and Territory Registering Bodies and Industry Skills Councils (ISC).

Nova has also gained accreditation of some of its courses at a Tertiary level. Several Nova courses have been accredited as Modules that contribute to Masters level programs. Nova’s combination of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Tertiary level accreditation experience ensures that we can assist any organisation, at any level, with respect to formally accrediting training courses.
